an artist to know

A Recording of Time Indefinite No.3

A Resurrection of Time Indefinite

I recently had the opportunity to go to an art opening for an artist, and good friend, Courtney J. Garrett. Courtney’s passion for conceptual thinking and ability to translate emotions onto canvas has evolved her into an artist on the rise. Her work can be found in New York, Chicago, Miami, as well as Atlanta and Birmingham.
Heavily influenced by the studies of natural conditions, her series “A Recording of Time Indefinite” was based on observations of particular plots of land in rural Alabama. These mixed media works capture how time, change and decay have altered settings and structures. “A Resurrection of Time Indefinite” was created to illustrate the hope and “acceptance of life and freedom amongst tired old bones…To stretch out weakened legs and learn to walk again…to move wings that once were broken and to take sunk-in eyes and learn to see.”
Follow Courtney here and here to stay updated on show openings and new work. I am confident that this is an artist that will continue to evolve in a way that will surprise and amaze you.

About Erin

I adore design. Patterns, textures, fonts, clean crisp details—it’s the little touches that make good design, really great. Graphics and interiors are my passions and constantly inspire my work. Enjoy a sneak peak into the world that I love.

Reviews

I’m so happy we were referred to Erin to design our wedding invitations. Erin was wonderful to work with and made the design process so simple. My fiancé and I were able to give her a basic concept that appealed to us and she was then able to quickly expand on that concept to give us a wonderful finished product. She had great ideas on how to make our invitations match the contemporary/non-traditional feel of our wedding and us. Her designs definitely stand out among the other stationary companies we considered and she made this process enjoyable and stress free. Erin is extremely responsive and was able to deliver the end product to us unbelievably fast. We will definitely use Erin in the future for all of our stationary/invitation needs.
